Background

The Asahi Kasei Group is actively promoting digital transformation (DX) to leverage the group's strengths in human resources, technology, and business diversity, as well as its transformative capabilities, to reshape its business model and lead value creation. To drive cross-group transformation through digital co-creation, the Digital Co-Creation Department has been established, bringing together digital talent from various departments. The goal is to strengthen the DX foundation and create new business opportunities by expanding internal and external collaborations. Additionally, the group has been strengthening DX education for all employees, and since June 2021, it has been implementing its uniquely designed Open Badge system globally.

What is the Open Badge System?

The Digital Normal Era, which emphasizes a mindset of digital utilization for all employees, has driven the development of a talent cultivation program aimed at enhancing IT and digital literacy. Since June 2021, Asahi Kasei Corp has been promoting a DX education initiative for all employees, focusing on improving digital skillsets. The program encourages self-directed learning by visualizing skills and promoting the gradual acquisition of basic digital knowledge through e-learning.
